Question "The CDONTS object could not be created".

I get this error when I try to send a test message with CDONTS configured as my email component. What is wrong?
Answer CDONTS is an optional part of IIS. It is also known as the Microsoft SMTP Service. It is normally installed on most servers, but it does not have to be. If this option is not installed or enabled, the component cannot be created and you cannot use this method to send email from your web server.
