Question We want to be the only ones that list auction items on our site. Is that possible using XcAuction?

Answer Yes, it is possible to configure the system so that only one user account (your own) would have permission to post auctions while others will not. This can be done through our "User Groups" system within the XUD administration which allows you define multiple user groups with different permissions. If you go to the "Groups" page under the "Maintain" menu in the XUD administration, you will see a list of any groups that you are defined as well as the built-in Everyone group. The Everyone group is a special group that is used to define the default user capabilities for all site users. You will want to set the AUCPOST capability of this group to N so that, by default, your users will not be able to post auctions.

Then, you can go back into the Groups page and define a new group that will be used for any user accounts which you want to be able to post auctions. You can name this group anything you want. You will want to edit the capabilities for this new group so that AUCPOST is set to Y. Once you have registered a user account you want to use to post auctions, you can add that user to this group.

Also, we have a gbBtoCAuction configuration setting that allows you to change how billing is handled within XcAuction. By default, the system can bill auctioneers for listing and closing fees. However, if you turn the BtoC setting on, then winning bidders are charged for the amount of their winning bid instead of the traditional billing model. So if a user bids $10 and wins an auction, $10 would be added to his bill on the site.
