What is the Verisign PayFlowPro component and why would I need it?

This is a free component provided by Verisign. This is used when you want to use Verisign’s gateway services to process your credit card transactions directly from your web site. This allows your web server and Verisign’s gateway to communicate directly with each other thus creating a secure method of performing your billing transactions automatically. To use it with XCENT web server applications, you need to have the Versign component installed on the web server. If your site is hosted with an ISP, you will need to contact your ISP to see if they have it or are willing to install it for you. You can verify it’s installation by running the XcDiag.ASP script on your site.
To get this component from Verisign, you will need to create an account on their web site at the URL here (www.verisign.com/payment). Click the BUY button to create an account (they do not actually charge for it). Once you create an account, you will be able to download the various API kits from their site. For IIS servers you want to download the API for Windows NT 4.0 / Windows 2000. Within this file is the installation information on setting up the Verisign API on your server.
Verisign's payment services have been acquired by PayPal, and PayFlowPro is currently no longer supported. Support will resume with a future release.
