Question I have multiple sites and want to use one or more of the XCENT web server application's on all my sites. Do I need a separate license for each site? What are my other licensing options?

Answer Currently we provide two distinct types of licenses for our web server applications. There is a Single Site License and an Enterprise License. A Single Site License is appropriate when you have one or just a couple sites. Each unique site must have it's own license. A unique site is defined as a single web site (domain) that has it's own unique content. If you have multiple domains that point to one site, then you only need one Single Site License. You do not need a unique license for each domain, if the alternate domains actually are just pointing to the same content as your primary domain. This is typical when you might register common misspellings of your primary domain in order to be sure to catch any end users that may commonly mistype your URL. A Single Site License does not allow you to install multiple copies on the same web server if the sites with each installation are unique sites. If you need two or more Single Site Licenses of the same application, contact XCENT sales for a percentage discount on your licenses.

We also provide an Enterprise License for all of our web server applications. An Enterprise License allows your organization to install an unlimited number of sites under a single license, so each site does not require an individual Single Site License with certain limitations. An Enterprise License limits the use of the installed applications to your own organization. This means you may not use an Enterprise License to host multiple sites running the application(s) for another party. For example, an ISP or Web Host may not use an Enterprise License to make the application(s) available to all their hosting clients. An Enterprise License is strictly limited to using the application(s) on as many of your own web site properties as you need. An Enterprise License cannot have partial interest transferred to another party. This means if you have several sites running an XCENT web server application under an Enterprise License and want to sell one site to another party, you cannot provide or transfer the licensed application to the other party without a separate license to cover the transferred site. If you sell or transfer all of your sites using the application licensed under the Enterprise License, then you can transfer the Enterprise License to the other party and do not need separate license(s) for the other party. For pricing on Enterprise Licenses, or if you have any questions on the licensing policies, contact XCENT sales.
